Warhorse: Analysis 2

Warhorse: Analysis 2

I want to write about the ten most important things in the book. I think that the relationship between Joey and Albert is very important because this constitutes the history.  Other important points are the war because everything related to the war. Also the no man’s lands are central it plays a main role. It’s not easy to find the ten most important thing because if you leave out something that gives the whole story no sense. Without the war Joey and Albert was never separate.  And so Joey will never met new friends for example Topthorn, Old  Friedrich and all the others. If Mr. Nicolles  had not died, Joey would never showed up in the no man’s land and he never will go to the Germans. because the story is so compact it's hard to find out the 10 most important things of the novel.

Warhorse: Characterization 2

Warhorse: Characterization 2

Write a short letter to one of the character. Tell them what is on your mind.

Dear Zoey
I want to tell you what is on my mind.
I am wondering how the life as a horse is. I image a life from horses very boring. Horses are only here to work or some people eat horsemeat. Is that not a problem for you when humans eat horses and most need horses only for work? Which are the positive side of life from a horse? I heard that horses can sleep during they stand. Is that true or only a joke? Sleep and stand simultaneously would be very nice. Another question that I would ask you is how it to live in the shadow of Joey is. He is the main character and you are only a supporting actor . Is that not hard for you? Joey has the full attention from Albert. You were never jealous of Joey?

Warhorse: Prediction

Warhorse: Prediction

At any point in the story  take a guess as to how the story will go on.

Will Albert Joey see again? This is the question that I have asked myself when Albert and Joey separated. Joey had to go into the war and Albert was to young for the army. I guess, because I think this book will have a happy end, that Joey and Albert will meet again. The relationship between the two is so good that nothing on earth will prevent them to meet again. Maybe Albert will find a way to join up the army so he can spend time with Joey. I could well imagine that Albert meet Joey secretly during the night or something like that. But when Joey spends the time with Albert during the night, he will be possibly very tried when he has to work. It is a strange situation but I hope that he will make it.

Warhorse : Reflection 2

Warhorse : Reflection 2

Write about something in the story that you wish you had in your own life.

The situation that i wish in my life is how Joey live on the farm when he was blessed. Joey was patched up by the Germans. The Germans have spared him. Because he was blessed he can not work he must only lay down, eat, enjoy the life and pass the with the other horses. Generally the live from a horse is easy, when you don’t have to work or go into the war. In the event of the described situation is the negative thing  that he was blessed. But he will be healthy so it is not to bad.  More or less is that a pleasant situation. Joey has not to work or something like that and transferred to the human we have not to do homework or somewhat tedious. But do nothing all the time is also boring.

Warhorse: Empathy

Wirte down 5 questions you would like to ask the author.

Dear author
I have some question for you. The first one is, why did you write the novel in the I-form? Would not it be easier to write in the you-from?
Another question which has occupied me is why has you wrote the story on the sight of a horse?
Have you a special relationship to horses? Or maybe do you live on a farm?
The third question is not as difficult as the other ones. How much time it takes to write a book? I can image that is a very time-consuming  work. I think this is definitive nothing for me.
Which emotion did you accompanied during the work? I can image that many different emotions may play a role because also for the reader is the book very emotionally.
So we come to the last question. In the end from the book everything is good. Why a happy end and not tragedy. Maybe you are a very positive person how believes in the good.
So that was my five questions that occupied me.
